Sam + Trevor | Highlands Ranch Mansion Wedding Photographer

So yes, I photograph a lot of babies.  And I adore them.  But I had a couple of weddings this summer and I just couldn’t help myself but to blog this wedding.  Sam and Trevor are seriously the sweetest couple.  They fit together like peanut butter and jelly and noticeably bring out the best in each other and I love it.  I tried really hard to just choose a few from their big day.  But I like to tell a story and couldn’t decide.  So I’m blogging more than originally anticipated.  Oh well.  Enjoy!

Paxton | Denver Newborn Photographer | Golden Colorado

I adore this newborn session.  This little guy was just as sweet as can be and had no problem sleeping for us as long as he had a full tummy.  I even got to feed him while his Mama ate her lunch.  Meet baby Paxton.  He was born into this world at just 5 pounds 7 ounces and 18.5 inches long.  Such a tiny peanut!   He is adored by his mom and dad and his big brother Sage is getting used to the idea of having him around.  I love the simplicity of this session.  And the love that shines through from Peter and Lena.  This little boy is so loved.

H Family | Denver Childrens and Family Photographer | Golden Colorado

Meet the H Family.  Deborah, Andrew, Ellie, Ava, and Baby Joey…and Benji and Lilly the dogs.  Deborah found me online, which quite honestly, is rare for me.  Most of my referrals come from word of mouth.  But how fun!  She browsed photographers and ultimately picked me for her top choice (I’m blushing here).  She gave her selection of photographer choices to Andrew for him to pick and he picked me as well…I am totally flattered.  I adored photographing this family.  Can you believe that the first thing they told me was how much they hate having their pictures taken?  I can’t tell by the photos below.   We got some super sweet images.  Are they a gorgeous family or what?

L & L | Airport Outtakes

Last year I took this picture of our girls at the airport.  My husband has a canvas of this on his office wall.  Partially because we have about 2 whole pictures of the girls together where they both look happy, but that’s beside the point.  We love this picture.

We just took a trip to San Diego and since we arrived so early at the airport on our way home, what better way to spend our time than to try to get another picture in the terminal, right?  Combine the fact that we packed in our vacation with an excursion every day with the lack of sleep since we didn’t have time for the usual three-hour naps and waiting for our flight during what would normally be naptime, all we got were outtakes.  And I still love them.  They capture exactly where we are in life.  I guess if I want less crazy girls in the now traditional “terminal” photo, I guess I should take it on our way to our destination rather than on our way home from an exhausting vacation.  Or not.

Linley:  Yeah, I’ll hug my sister for a yogurt pretzel…

Landri:  How about I show you my gymnastics!  Linley:  I can do that too.

Thanks for the yogurt pretzel.

Landri:  I’ll give you one good smile for another.  Linley:  I’d like another, please!  They’re right over there!

Will these smiles do the trick?

Just for comparison sake, here is an outtake from last year.  I might actually like this one better than the first.  Linley’s face completely cracks me up.

There is a lot of things about one and three year olds that really drive me nuts.  Like Landri crying because she doesn’t like chapstick.  Or Linley screaming because she only wants to eat butter for dinner.  But I’ve learned to let go of the “perfect” picture.  These are perfect for us.

Grace | Denver Newborn Photographer

This newborn session was super special for me.   I met D (known by most people as Dan or Daniel, but I grew up calling him D) and Hollie in the 7th grade when I moved to Colorado and we’ve been friends ever since.  I went to college with D taking nearly every class with him since our degrees were the same.  We joke that the only reason D made it through college was because of me…I scheduled all of the classes and even got a minor in just 4 years.  He just signed up for whatever I signed up for.

I couldn’t have been more excited and honored to photograph their sweet little girl Grace at just 7 days old.  She arrived at 6 pounds 14 ounces and was 19.5 inches long…just perfect.   She is super laid back and loves to be naked.  I just adore her.  Here are a few from her newborn session and a couple from her adorable nursery.  Isn’t she stunning??
